Born: Swarthmore PA, Education: Nether Providence High School, Wallingford PA 1955, The George School, Bucks Co.PA 1956, Temple University’s Tyler School of Fine Arts, Elkins Park PA and Philadelphia 1959,(Fine Arts and Academics — education classes, Griffin Business School 1983,Bellevue WA (computer programming/systems analysis.) And many other art workshops and classes in Pennsylvania and in Washington State.

Work: Teaching and designing Art curriculum for Valley Forge Christian Academy 1967 until 1973.

In Seattle area, 1974-1980’s, computer-related work for schools and businesses in the area. Office management and computer programming for Lake Washington Voc Tech, computer, screen design for American Viking Enterprises, out of Lynwood WA, office manager for Isadore Industries, Kirkland WA.

In 1973, Moved to Puget Sound area, WA , where I created hollandART Studio in Issaquah –a venue for classes taught by myself and others, and hosted regular workshops with live models.

In the 80’s I won a juried booth (Gentle Creatures) at the popular yearly Bellevue, event Pacific Northwest Arts and Crafts Fair with awards in oil painting and pastel drawing. Participated in Issaquah, WA’s Salmon Days annual fair various Art Fairs and festivals in Eastern and Western Washington selling two -dimensional works and three dimensional works. This led to commissions for animal portraits in the greater Seattle area.

Large watercolor paintings derived from Photomicrographic films sold in Tacoma, Issaquah, and Seattle.

Produced under the auspices of Visual Arts League, and curated the 3 Americas! international exhibit in 2001 which traveled from UMDNJ, Piscataway NJ, to Lincoln Center, NY, NY, and then to various city venues and libraries for several years thereafter.

Worked in my studio and carving workshop in Bellevue,WA. Works shown in Gallery [context] at the Seattle Design Center and was selected as a featured artist in the 2013 CSA program in Seattle. Member of ArtEast in Issaquah WA, participating in various local projects sponsored by this organization.

Co-founded two online businesses: Art Faces|Art Places (dot com), an early gallery for US artists.Co-founded ArtGroupCritique (dot org) based in UK and currently featuring painting classes taught by Marc Turner out of Warrington, UK.

Now I am in my little quiet studio in a “green” farmhouse on the High Desert of NW New Mexico, with miles and miles of beauty and fascinating shapes and colors on all sides. And of course, I have a new project I’m working on with my partner and my “agent” friend. The Summerhouse, it’s called, for the time being. Exciting stuff. Art, books, events.
